The new Queens Visitor Center provides information for visitors, travel planners or anyone who is interested in knowing what's happening in the Borough of Queens. Available materials inlcude: visitor guides, newsletters, a business directory, neighborhood histories, demographics, maps and community information.
Visitor Center Greeters representing 14 Queens based not-for-profit organizations, are on hand to answer questions and to assist visitors in their quest to learn more about Queens County. The greeters offer, at designated times and dates, informational workshops on their organization as well.
Participating Organizations include: Louis Armstrong House Museum, Queens Symphony Orchestra, Queens Legal Services, Kupferberg Center for the Arts at Queens College, Queens Theatre in the Park, Queens Economic Development Corporation, Queens Community House, Forest Park, Queens Botanical Garden, New Immigrant Community Empowerment, Queens Museum of Art, Jamaica Center for Arts & Learning, Queensborough Performing Arts Center and the Haitian Americans for United Progress.
The Queens Visitor Center was developed through the cooperative efforts of the Queens Economic Development Corporation, the Office of Queens Borough President, Helen M. Marshall and Macerich - Queens Center.
